COLOUR BREATHING MEDITATION

Your chakra points are the connection points between your physical body and your subtle body and, in order to facilitate the optimum flow of energy between these bodies and to ensure an efficient, flowing meridian system, these chakra points need to be kept in prime condition and should be balanced frequently.

A simple exercise to balance the chakra is colour breathing. This can be incorporated into your routine meditation time. Once you have cleared your mind breathe gently and evenly. With this meditation you do not need to open your chakra points but should be aware of each one in turn.

METHOD –

  • Picture a cloud of colour that corresponds to the chakrum that you wish to balance. As you inhale, imagine the colour entering your body through your nostrils and direct the colour into and through your body to the relevant chakrum position.
  • Take as many inhalations as necessary to absorb the cloud into your body – pause for a moment to allow the colour to energise the chakrum and feel the energy permeating through your physical and subtle bodies – be aware of your aura and how this feels as the chakrum is rebalanced by its relevant colour.
  • If you have specific needs you can meditate with a single colour. This method requires you to breathe in one colour and breathe out its complementary colour, just as the lungs take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide.
  • Red – breathe in this colour to improve libido, strengthen body and mind and for vitality and courage. Breathe out turquoise.
  • Orange – breathe in this colour for joy, fun, happiness, to let go of the past, if bereaved, grieving  or unhappy in any way. Breathe out blue.
  • Yellow – breathe in this colour to stimulate your mind, when about to take tests or examinations, for creativity and when you have to ‘think things over’. Breathe out violet.
  • Green – breathe in this colour when you need harmony and balance in your life. Breathe out magenta.
  • Turquoise – breathe in this colour when you are suffering from infections, you need to boost your immune system, are suffering from scarring – either physical or emotional or have a temperature. Breathe out red.
  • Blue – breathe in this colour when you need are stressed and need calming. When you need peace of mind or are suffering from bouts of sleeplessness. Breathe out orange.
  • Violet – breathe in this colour when you need to love yourself more. Breathe out yellow.
  • Magenta – breathe in this colour when you need to free your mind of those thoughts or memories that have become obsessional or you need help with any addictive habits. Breathe out green.

Remember to pause during your meditation to allow the energy to work then, when you are ready move on to the next chakrum and repeat the process.

Use white light for general aura cleansing at least once a week but remember that white has no complementary colour.

After each meditation finish by visualising a shield of protection around the outside of your aura, silver on the inside and golden on the outside.
