Carl Jung recognised that the unconscious mind was a source of spiritual insight. He referred to the point in time when humans became self-aware as our psychic birth. Becoming aware of our conscious self separated the human animal from nature thus setting us free to find a spiritual connection with the greater universe and beyond. Sojourner, your soul is the coupling of your physical body to your spiritual body; this is a fragile bond.
Spiritual consciousness is achieved when you release your higher mind from captivity within your body and, through this spiritual introspection, you can liberate yourself from the burdens of duty, responsibility, sorrow, grief, anxiety, worry, stress, illness and all things material. You cannot help but be set in your ways and ideas; such is the nature of humankind. You are compelled to work in order to live and to create as comfortable a life as you can for yourself and those you love.
Striving purely for material gain adds extra pressure to your body and mind. You can lift these burdens by lifting your spirit. You can learn to connect to your inner self and to your higher mind. This can be achieved through a heightened awareness of the natural rhythms of nature and by opening yourself to the many and varied energies vibrating throughout the universe. Freeing your mind through contemplation and your soul through meditation can bring to you to a deeper understanding of your life, your troubles and your blessings and help you to find inner peace. You will recognise that you occupy a unique place in the world and you will accept that all is as it should be regardless of the difficulties strewn in your path. You will create for yourself a life of spiritual richness.
Evolution is a slow process of change from one form to another. In nature this process occurs in order for a species to survive – self-preservation is innate within all living organisms. Evolutionary change does not occur at a constant rate; the process can have long periods of relative stability interspersed with periods of rapid change. The evolution of your soul is a journey to perfection.
Sojourner, your soul journey began when you were in the womb. You may have many incarnations through the aeons and in each you will have adventures and experiences from which you will learn new lessons. When all your earthly lessons are learned your soul begins a new journey. Spiritual unfoldment continues through the cosmic planes. There are new lessons and once these too have been learned all desire is eradicated; your soul journey is completed. The result is the absorption of your perfect self into the infinite.
Sojourner, you are not travelling one path through this incarnation but many. Your soul journey is made up of four elements the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual pathways. Your subtle body, also known as your ethereal body, your meridian system, your chakra points, your aura and your physical, mental and emotional bodies all interlink. An imbalance in any one of these systems can cause an imbalance in the others and may lead to disharmony, anxiety, stress, illness or disease; balanced you are at peace with yourself and the world about you. You can harness the regenerative energies that pervade throughout the universe by connecting them to your own energy field.
